WOE IS ME

I have been feeling like a bear with a broken leg and a tooth ache. I am not a happy camper at the moment. I have injured by back again and I have an infection in my foot. I am on pain pills, water pills, and antibotic pill, and I am a pill these days. My hubby is a saint and my children and grandchildren think Grandma is off her rocker or a rocket somewhere. They are ready for Jackie Gleason to put Alice (me) to the moon. Naw, just kidding, it is not that serious yet. I just needed to bitch and moan a little.I have so many things I want to be doing besides lying in bed sleeping and dreaming crazy dreams from these pain pills. No pot or LSD for me, this stuff is scary enough!

I hope your week is going better than mine. There is a silver lining to this cloud of gloom, my granddaughter wants to spend the night and take care of grandma. She is so precious and caring. I have played Old Maid card games, the Steal the Bones from the Bulldog game which is funny and cute. The bulldog is asleep and each time you take a bone, he might wake up, when he does awake, he barks and jumps to grab you with his teeth which he has no chance of doing. We played the marble game and checkers. This kid is savvy and beats grandma a lot of times. Of course, I am on good drugs, so who cares. If I could have my granddaughter around all the time, I might just want to stay sick. No, I don't like to be sick and EveryOne knows it.

As you can see from this blog, I have my notebook computer in the bed with me and I am an internet junkie. Or that is the word on the street, probably started by my family. I have sold a few things on my ebay. Of course, I buy more than I sell but that is the whole point, right? I have met some great folks on the site. I still have a few DVDs and VHS tapes for sale. Click on my Milly Mall link on this site to see them at my store and on ebay. El Cheapo for good movies! Next week or so, I plan to add some large items to the list. My daughter wants to sell her horse riding outfits, an extension ladder, and a motorcycle. I will be her "broker", fancy word for "I don't want to deal with the hassle myself." She's my kid, what ya gonna do?

I hope you share the love and kindness in your life with others. Have a great week and remember, love does make the world go around. We just need more of it for our fellow man. Hugs, GA Peach

EVERYTHING IS COMING UP ROSES

I wish it were true. It is so cold up here in North Georgia. I might as well be living in "Neew Yorurk Citee" where they make that picante sauce. I did see a few robins last week and some squirrels and chipmunks running around. My neighbor across the street has a few blub plants starting to bloom. I know I need to plant my roses in the next 2 weeks. I just wish I did not have to dig in that hard ground so soon. I might wait 3 weeks to see if it warms up a little more.

I love a beautiful rose garden. I hope the ones I plant this year will be around for a long time. I know it is better to plant them in a raised bed with a variety of colors. I like the double rose scotch blooms, and the cherokee climber. The Don Juan climber is beautiful as well. I am looking forward to getting in the dirt and mixing the beds with peat, top soil, a little bone meal, and mild rose fertilizer, with decorative rocks and pebbles to let the air circulate around the roots. I have the perfect, well drained spot. I am itching to get started on the spring planting. It was 22 degrees at 7 a.m. this morning, I guess it will be a little longer before I can bust some sod and get my hands dirty.

I like the hybird tea roses and have always had success with them. They are so easy to grow if you start them off in the proper bed and soil. If you have heard of any new varieties which grow well around Fulton, Cobb, or Cherokee County, Georgia, please send me a comment on this post.

I can truly stop and smell the roses in the next few months. I will post some photos of my beauties in the future. I also love the smell of gardenias and have had success with them. They turn brown if you touch the blooms and I know my little grandbabies will be doing just that with their little fingers. Especially, if I tell them not to touch the blooms. It will be like a magnet for those little hands. I used to do it to my Grandma Glisson's flowers. She had the biggest and brightest best smelling gardenia bushes.

I guess I have the spring fever coming over me, or I have the cabin fever going on and want to escape. I am home with 3 of my grandchildren as school is out today and I have been trying to entertain them. One of them has the pink eye and is doing a little better today. One of them has a chest cold and a fever. And, my little grandson has the "I am hungry" whine down just right. He has been eating since 7:30 a.m. I am cutting off the food train at 12 p.m. He is probably as bored as I am by now. I am glad I could be here to take care of them. There is nothing like that Mama and Grandma loving when you feel bad. My grandkids are spoiled up to a point but I can't blame them, I helped make them that way.

I will close for now, and wish you a great day. I am sure many of you are in the same boat with the kids today. Take heart, and enjoy these extra hours of loving and caring for them.

Remember, share the love and kindness in your life like bread on the waters.
