THINGS ARE GETTING BACK TO NORMAL

The sun is out. The flowers are blooming. I washed my dog, Lady Rosie, today and removed mounds of shedding hair. She is a mixed border collie and golden retriever so you can imagine the long hair mass. She does not like her bath, however, she endures it to please me, I think. We have a playtime of it and I get soaked as well. She is feeling a little better with all that mop of hair thinned out. She also smells better.

The main reason for my happiness and spurt of energy is the fact that my granddaughter, Roxi, who was in the hospital last week is doing much better. The new meds she is taking are helping with her appetite problem and she is back in school. She loves her school and regular routine as most kids with ASD do. They function better in a well-organized environment. My son and his wife are searching for a new pediatrician for her as the other group did not perform very well for her better health. It is hard to find one who will listen to the parents and what is happening with the child. My granddaughter does not talk, only a few words, and cannot tell where something hurts or what she needs. We are very happy she is doing so well this week and hope it continues. The cyst problem will have to wait, until she is more stabilized with her weight situation, to be addressed. It is not a life-threatening type of problem as first thought. My other granddaughter and my grandson are doing very well and happy to have Roxi home again. Mommy has been spending lots of quality time with the little girl who is 5 as she really missed her mom last week while she stayed at the hospital most of the time.

Also, I am happy because the tension and stress in our lives the last few weeks has abated somewhat. My son and his wife are having their final exams at colleges this week and next. Then, they will be out for the summer. Oh, happy days are here again. Papa and I will be able to go on some short day trips and long weekends again to rest our weary bones. We have childcare during the school season on several days for the girls and our grandson which we enjoy. However, we are getting old to run and play with the kids as they love to do. God gave kids to young mothers and fathers whereby they could grow up with them...heh heh.

I have been enjoying the peace and quiet and just soaking up the sun a little each day. I walk my dog and wave a the neighbors in the yards. I chat a little if they want to and go on my way. It is a simple pleasure which I enjoy being able to do.I will go out tomorrow and buy some more plants for the yards and try to get them in the ground this weekend. We have some beautiful trees and shrubs which are blooming or just waning in blooms. It always lifts my spirits to view all the beauty in nature. We need some more rain here and I hope we get that which is for casted for tomorrow or Friday.

It is late or early in the a.m. and I need to go to bed. I have to arise at 6 a.m. to help my granddaughter get dressed, fed, and on the school bus by 7. Grandma usually goes back to bed and pulls the covers over her head for a few hours. Retirement is so great, well, most of the time.

You all have a wonderful day and pass on the love and kindness in your life as bread on the waters. A smile, a kiss, a hug, a kind word, a courtesy can make all the difference in some one's day, maybe even your own. Hugs, GA Peach

I am so glad your granddaughter is out of the hospital and on her way to being healthy. I'm sure she loves being back in school also.

My prayers that they find a good pediatrician. Our's was wonderful (I interviewed over 20 while pregnant) but he was young, and went to work for a group in Atlanta. =O(

I haven't found a good pediatrician since. Squirt is behind on her immunizations and the last place I took her almost gave her a shot of expired DPT.

If I hear of a good one or find a good one that is very read up on ADD, etc... I will be sure to let you know.
