Grandbaby developed severe Autism and mild mental retardation between 9 months and 11 months, when she stopped talking and her eyes lost their sparkle and her lips their smile. She was not officially diagnosed until age 2. She is lost inside herself and cannot communicate except on a very limited level. She has numerous medical problems and behavior problems. Please pray for a cure. Autism now effects 1 baby in every 150 births. It is of epidemic portions at this time.
I believe strongly on this issue of vaccines causing or laying the ground work in the brain for Autism to happen in young children. There may be a family genes connection, however, this problem might not have happened if the vaccines had not started the decline of brain functions for these autistic children. So many children have this disease/disorder that a common factor has to be the trigger for the mass spread of this horrible disease/disorder happening all over America and many parts of the world. Please pray the courts recognize this and bring a favorable judgment for children suffering with this brain disease/disorder. We need answers and we need someone to step up to the microphone and announce the cause and what we can do to stop it from effecting more children.

US Court Hearings Begin on Link Between Vaccines, Autism

Thousands of families who believe vaccines caused their children's autism will have their day in court Monday, as hearings begin in Washington, D.C.
The first test case involves a 12-year-old girl from the southwestern U.S. state of Arizona. Her parents say a combination vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella, plus a mercury-containing preservative, caused the child's autism.
More than 4,800 families have filed claims with the U.S. government, alleging that their children contracted autism as a result of routine vaccinations. Three so-called "special masters" will hear the test cases at the little-known U.S. Court of Federal Claims. The parents are seeking vindication for their belief and compensation payments from a government trust fund.
Most scientists argue that vaccines are not linked to autism.
Autism is a neurological disorder that can severely impact social interaction, communication and developmental growth.
The Institute of Medicine points to large scientific studies that have found no association between autism and vaccines.
But some members of the National Autism Association say drug manufacturers and the federal government work too closely together to the point that the government works to protect the industry from liability. The association says it wants to raise awareness of environmental toxins that can cause neurological damage.

Peaches--I'm truly conflicted with autism diagnoses.
I've seen and worked with the truly autistic and their families and I've worked with the students and families that aren't autistic at all (in my opinion) but are looking for a diagnosis that is favorable to the child that is then used to excuse all manner of anti-social behavior.
As far as public school diagnosis goes, it runs about 3-1 in favor of kids being diagnosed with an autism "spectrum" disorder rather than full-blown autism.
This year, for the first time in this county, we have identified the first autistic/gifted student.

She is so sweet nonetheless. I do agree that vaccinations are the underlying cause, especially those that still use or have "Thermosol" as a preservative. Thermosol is a fancy name for Mercury. It is my understanding that the FDA stopped the use of this in vaccines since 2001 but there are vaccines still on the shelf or coming from out of country sources, that still use this.
Some may say I am very bad, Squirt is four and NOT fully vaccinated. I made this choice because of these fears and I'm glad that I did. With this fully immunize by age 2 program in GA, I don't think they are realizing how difficult it is for an infant to have so many shots at one visit to develop so many immunities. Not to mention, half of the vaccines are not immediately necessary.
I hope this court case reveals and answers some much needed responsibilities of the pharmacuetical companies and the lawmakers/states that make vaccinations law. (Squirt can't go to daycare, school, receive WIC or benefits unless she gets caught up.)
I'm equally upset over this mandatory Cervical Cancer vaccine for girls at age 12. It is new, hasn't really been tested and there is no way that I would want to jeapordize my childs' health because some state Governor received lobby money from a drug company to force this shot on young girls.
It is a good breakthrough for cervical cancer - but things like this should be kept between a girl and her family doctor when the time is right. Education not forcing is the answer.

I have a good friend psychiatrist who is alarmed by the number of autistic related patients he has! There is definitely something in this. What about estrogen mimics in the stuff like plastic wrap and what it is doing in-utero to the developing fetus? It would have an effect on the genitalia for sure. And petrochemicals?
