Got & itch to be a cyberbully or stalker, think again!

Cyberbullying and cyberstalking are mean and nasty blows rained upon the victims by the most foul and most hurtful words or photos or clip art in the hope of demeaning their victims and humiliating them too tears or worse actions. This case involved a young teenager who killed herself over what her boyfriend said to her in an online chat club after being nice and solicitous to her in early posts and chats. The bully was actually the mother of one of the girl's friends trying to learn what the young girl was saying online about her own daughter. A 40ish woman taunting a 13 year old girl! What a sick witch! I hope this case will bring some sort of rules to live by in corresponding with persons on a chat room spot, or My Space and Facebook sites, or sites such as the SMN blog/forums. See the link to the story at the bottom of my posting.

What constitutes actual bullying and stalking of a person and harassing them to a point where they feel demeaned, frightened for their life and the family's safety. This is not a joking matter It happens more and more frequently each day. Some of it is very vile and totally unnecessary in social conversations. I hope new guidelines will be forthcoming very soon whereby all forums and chat rooms and personal sites for meeting other will be governed by one set of rules to follow when a poster becomes abusive in language and in stalking another poster. A lot of posters who were on this very site at sMN have left and no longer post here due to the nastiness and vile comments posted by some individuals.

Please read the article and give your comments and suggestions on the subject matter, serious comments, please, not ribald or smirks and innuendos. This is a world wide problem which needs to be brought in check as more and more people use the Internet to meet and converse with other people here and abroad. Also, posters should know the FBI becomes involved when the crime gets to this level of stalking and bullying on the Internet. They can get our computer IP and ID numbers and trace to the offender's computer in a matter of hours. Do you want the FBI knocking on your door at 3 a.m. in the morning because of something you wrote online? They will take your computer and all your information and you to a nice jail cell. Be careful who you allow to use your computer or computer network in the future.

Thanks, Peach

Death by a Cyberbully.
